Behind every business is a founder — and behind every founder, a set of thinking and behavioural patterns that shape every decision the brand will make: positioning, pricing, partnerships, risk. We call this the owner's "governing law". Strategy that ignores it fails. Strategy built on it compounds. This is why our brand consulting and business development work begins with the founder's mindset and motivations — before the brand book, before the sales deck.

The IDEAL Method: Our Analytical Foundation

Developed by Dr. Champion K. Teutsch and Joel M. Teutsch in the 1960s and rooted in the psychogenetics of human behaviour, the IDEAL Method is the analytical instrument behind our approach. We apply it to understand what truly drives a founder — and to align brand strategy, commercial decisions and execution with it.

The acronym stands for:

  • I – Individualized: No two founders — or their brands and markets — are the same.
  • D – Directive: Steering decisively toward defined commercial and creative goals.
  • E – Explanatory: Breaking business experiences down into predictable, actionable elements.
  • A – Action: Translating insight into clear action plan.
  • L – Log: Documenting process and outcomes with logical clarity, using structured formulas.

From Mindset to Market

A founder's governing patterns influence risk tolerance, decision-making speed, pricing confidence, and how a brand shows up in negotiations and at the shelf. When we develop a brand, structure a collaboration or open a new market, we first identify these deep-seated drivers — then build strategy that works with them rather than against them. The result: sharper positioning, decisions made with clarity, and commercial strategies founders can actually execute — because they're aligned with who the founder is, not just what the market wants.
